Mankind is an alternative music group based in Nairobi, Kenya. It is made up of singer songwriter MANE & The Cloak a vocalist and producer. The duo met in high school in the year 2011. Since then they have experimented on a variety of genres and styles ranging from pop & Alt Rock to Hip Hop & Reggae.
They recorded their first EP in the year 2014 and have released three singles from the project so far. These are North, The King of Hearts and Dark Skin in that order.

On July 10th 2015 Mankind hosted their own show ORIGINS at Treehouse to raise funds for future projects. Later in 2015 they linked up with Motion Image Sound & Airtel Kenya featuring on Season One of Airtel JAM Sessions with a couple of other artists.
In early 2016 Mankind released the visual for their 2nd single The King of Hearts. Later in the year Mankind recieved a grant from The British Council under the New Art New Audiences programme to make soundtracks for a film titled Meet Me Outside
They recently signed a licensing deal with Sony Africa and a three year publishing deal with Sony ATV
